Wine Boxes Upcycled Into a Storage Cabinet With Integrated Lamp
Here are wooden crates, a lamp base and a tin, recycled in a colorful decorative shelf with a lamp and a mirror, decorated with patterns, bohemian or gypsy style.
- a nice benefactor gave me a big vintage wooden case and oh miracle, my supermarket had two wine boxes in reserve and I was lucky to receive them because the liquor stores keep or sell their own wooden crates it has become difficult to find unless you buy filled crates. I removed agraphs and nails, clogged the holes, sanded and painted
the 3 wooden crates with my homemade chalk paint, in yellow, blue and pink, sanded again and put other layers of paint until the result is satisfactory, then varnished. I recommend to sand the black inscriptions as much as possible and to put more layers of paint on the yellow box because the color is lighter and less covering.
- I screwed 2 wheels at the bottom of the biggest box, the blue and sawed a big wooden stick to make 2 feet of the same height, I painted them blue, masked a part and painted in silver and then glued a patterned band at mod-podge.
Once polished, I also screwed them.
- After having printed a pattern in several copies, I put a layer of varnish on the leaves then I lined the bottom of the yellow box at the mod-podge and I varnished it.
I took a square mirror, cut a square a little larger than I covered with glue, glitter and varnish, and stuck under my mirror in the center of the yellow box. I drew a thin outline of glitter inside my body with the glue gun.
I screwed my first 2 cases by the top of the blue and the back, attaching them to a steel square of assemblies for wooden elements.
- I upholstered the bottom of the red box of paper, glued a round pattern in the center and blue edges to mod-podge then varnish
- I painted an old lamp base in silver, covered some parts of glitter and varnish and surrounded the foot of pearls to insert it in my pink box
- I drilled the bottom of a large tin can, pierced the walls and I painted it in blu, varnished and decorated with a net of glitter with the glue gun
- I drew the template of my box on the top of the red box then I drilled a hole to be able to enter my safteuse saw and cut the round, I sanded and painted the opening
I could then stick the lamp base and slide its lampshade in my pink box
- I finally fixed it to the 2 in the same way as the blue with the yellow.
Voilù no original way to turn wine boxes into storage cabinets with floor lamps and casters
