Summer Apothecary Jar: Red, White, and Blue

I decorate minimally, so my apothecary jar is a main focus in our living room. It desperately needed to be updated from its winter theme. I simply used beans to create a patriotic apothecary jar.
Red kidney beans, followed by white. The blue beans are not blue-they are actually black beans.
A large apothecary or hurricane jar requires a lot of filler. To use less filler, use a can in the center. Try different sized cans to see what works best. I've used soup, fruit, and cat food cans in the past.
The apothecary jar sits on our sofa table alongside our clock and stacked old books.
