Ideas for a housewarming gift for a new neighbour got me onto this project. I recently bagged a charity shop bargain of a pair of plain glass vases that were screaming out for decoration!

I wanted to try some new acrylic paint pens and so I used this as an opportunity to see how I get on with them.

Plain glass vases

I carefully paint flowers and dots using the white paint pen.

Painting flowers on the glass

I get the hang of the pens and it is great that you can wipe mistakes away easily before it dries.

Adding delicate design

I use colours to accent and bring life to the vases, but you can choose to keep it the way it is if you'd like.

Try coloured paint pens

I’m pleased with the pretty designs I got with acrylic paint pens and will develop and try out some more techniques . If you want the makers advise baking in oven to fix but i found the design seemed pretty fixed and robust without baking and fine for the purpose of vases.

Here they are fully finished, and looking beautiful. I hope you give this project a try yourself.
