Hi Lucie. It would help to know what's in front of that wall...a sofa, a desk a bed? If it's a bed you could frame around it with moulding to make it look like a headboard, likewise with a desk. It could be framed and become a place for notes or pictures with the addition of command hooks that won't damage the wall. If it's a sofa you could do the same. Frame it out and make it a focal piece...artwork of some kind. Perhaps string some lights on it and make it stand out. Hope that helps!
Add some molding around it to dress it up like someone did around this mirror https://www.hometalk.com/diy/bathroom/mirrors/how-to-frame-your-builder-grade-mirror-39877231?expand_all_questions=1
How to Frame Your Builder Grade Mirror
Can you explain why you can't take it off???
Any wallpaper can be removed and if it's paint, just paint over it.
You can either remove it and paint over the space, or if it's difficult to remove, put a new wall paper that you like right over it.
I like the colors in the stripes. I would put molding around it to hide the edges and have it wide enough to blend the switch in with the trim.
I would remove that wallpaper or just prime and paint over it. It makes the space look awkward. If you must keep it. Dress it up with molding, which will also dress up the wall. Also I would paint the wall a light gray if you keep the square spot.
