Hi Laura, commercial vinegar has a higher acidic content than regular white household vinegar sold in grocery stores. Sprayed directly onto weeds will kill them within a few hours, just be sure not to overspray onto plants you don't want to kill. I often just use a large piece of cardboard to shield the other plants from the spray...(I use a small garden sprayer I purchased at WalMart for $5) t
My recipe is 1 gallon of vinegar (I use grocery store vinegar which is about 4%) 1/2-1 cup of table salt and a squirt of Dawn dish washing liquid. Mixed together and placed in the sprayer. Since you're using commercial vinegar you may not need the additional ingredients.
Just place it in a pump sprayer and spray away. Be sure to protect any plants you want to keep, as "agricultural" strength vinegar is much more potent and has a higher acidity content. Apple cider vinegar and white vinegar are typically 5% acidity, "cleaning" vinegar is 6% and agricultural or janitorial vinegar is 10% and higher depending on the brand. Works like a charm, yet again, be careful. If you have sensitive skin, it can irritate it.

For a healthy supply of this man-made concoction, mix a gallon of white vinegar, one cup of salt, and one tablespoon of dish soap. Make sure it is properly stirred, then put the mixture in a spray bottle for easy use. You can stash the bottle in your house for repeated use.
