2 cups vinegar, 1/2 cup salt, little Dawn, spray bottle and shake.
This works best on a sunny day. Use early in a.m. after dew evaporates. We spray our fence line, driveway and side walk cracks to kill weeds. You do not want to use it generally in a lawn to kill weeds though as it kills all plants (like your good grass lawn). Here is the recipe: 1 gallon white vinegar, 2 cups Epsom salts, 1/3 cup Dawn blue dish soap.
Hi Bbe,
I agree with Tinyshoes, except be very careful with the mixture if you use salt. Salt can kill the soil so that nothing will grow. It's great for cracks in sidewalks and driveways or where you don't want anything to grow, but for regular garden weeds, I use vinegar and Dawn. It takes a few days to work so do it when it won't be raining. You may have to do it several times because there are a lot of weed seeds already in the soil, but it's easy to walk around with that spray bottle and squirt, squirt, squirt. Just don't squirt flowers or bushes that you want to keep. Another option is to pour on boiling water. That will kill the weeds immediately. The same is true of flowers, so be careful how you pour. Wishing you the best.
just pour straight vinegar on plants alot enuf to soak down into roots best done in full direct hot sun with no rain for 3 days ;do not need a bunch of extra stuff added to vinegar (waste of money) & definitely don't water it down

This is not an exact science – approximate measures are totally fine 1 gallon white vinegar and cup Epsom salts and ¼ cup liquid dish soap Combine ingredients in spray bottle and treat weeds at the hottest time of day for best results.
The struggle is real, isn't it?!? This is the most effective all-natural weed killer DIY that we use. It's even been featured on Hometalk! Hope this helps! Hugs, Holly
