How to Gild a Fake Pumpkin With Metallic Spray and Craft Paint

You don't have to break out the Gold coins to get a rich looking, gilded Faux Pumpkin. Follow my easy, and inexpensive steps to get a rich, gilded Faux Pumpkin, that is even more gorgeous than the expensive kinds you see in Home Decor Catalogues.
These pumpkins are far more gorgeous, and far less expensive than their counterparts, appearing in all the Home Decor Magazines for Fall. You won't believe how easy it is to recreate this look yourself with products you probably already have.
Start with an orange or neutral colored Faux Pumpkin. Sometimes you can even find these at the Dollar Store, so load up!
Spray paint each pumpkin in one metallic spray paint of your choice. I used a Copper Spray Paint and a Gold Spray Paint. When the paint dries, carefully dry brush from the stem, going down with Gold or Silver Metallic Paint.
Play around with the color until you get the look you like. This mimics the look of sun shining on the pumpkins and adds a beautiful layer and depth.
For more realistic detail, you can add a length of wire, twisted around a pencil, then inserted into the Faux Pumpkin near the stem for a whimsical Pumpkin tendril. More details of how to complete this project are at my website, link below.
