How do you paint Formica countertops?
I have brown mingled counter tops both in the kitchen and bath. How much trouble would it be to paint these counters to something a little more bright. I do not want to paint them in a marble design, solid would be fine.

Clean them well, prime them (use a good one line Zinsser BIN), paint and seal with 2-3 coats of polycrylic. Be very gentle when cleaning them and they'll last longer. However, it's not a permanent solution. But its a good solution until you can replace them down the road.
