Easy peasy, get a piece of styrofoam or a cardboard box. Wash down the drawer and cabinet pulls. I boiled mine in a pot with dawn and vinegar to get all the gook off. Let dry then insert into styrofoam or box so that they stick up. I used Rustoleum auto primer on mine before painting. Then get the gold Rustoleum spray paint. Make sure you do light coats, it may take 3 or 4 light coats, but this way you will not have drip marks and the pulls will stay nice.
Oh, no sanding necessary if you do it this way.
Remove the pulls from the drawers and cabinets, wash them in warm water and a mild detergent and let them dry thoroughly. Set . them outdoors on newspaper or some other cardboard or paper and spray them with gold spray paint. Let the paint dry completely, and then add another coat of the paint. Turn them over and repeat the process. Seal them with a clear spray sealer and you will be ready to put them back on your cabinets. Spray paints can give you a great metallic finish.

How to Paint Cabinet Pulls in Seconds!
I'd say the best thing is to spray paint it!
RustOleum is my favorite spray paint for this type of job. Here's how I hang my drawer pulls so that I can spray evenly. First I scuff with fine steel wool then wipe down with denatured alcohol. Then hang and spray.
You can buy spray paint that will be suitable.
You can try Rub n Buff. They make a wide range of colours and finishes and you just squirt a little on a clean cloth and rub it all over the hardware. Let them dry and they are good to go. I have used it on a lot of different hardware and it has held up really well.
Oh yes!! Use Gilding wax!!

I know that rustelouem makes a great spray paint for this kind of projects but here is another idea

Hi Steph - Your project sounds like a lot of fun - and one I'm now considering too!!! I agree with the others, remove the handles, use a gold spray paint (they have so many awesome options now). Give it 2-3 light coats rather than one heavy coat of spray paint. Good luck - it's going to look fabulous! Hugs, Holly
Hi ! I would use a spray paint ! First , lightly scuff them so the paint stick better . Use a couple of light coats for better coverage without drip marks . Let the first coat dry thoroughly before starting the next coat . Good luck !
