How to Tie Dye Towels With Snow and Ice

Ice dyeing is a technique of tie dyeing fabric using ice or snow. This is a great project to try in the summer when it’s hot or in the winter when you have snow. Grab a bucket of ice, some plain white towels and a tie dye kit and you can make this fun ice dye project with the kids and hang your towels on display in the bathroom
Start with a clean white towel. Cotton fabric works best. You can dye any kind of fabric as long as it is made with natural fibers.
Wet the towel and scrunch it up. Place it in a wire basket, bowl or on a wire rack. Cover the towel with snow or ice cubes. Mix your dye according to the instructions. Use a variety of colors and pour it all over the snow.
Let the snow melt. You can bring it inside and place it in a sink or a bathtub. Wait about 6 or 7 hours for the snow to melt and the fabric to absorb the dye.
Rinse the towel out in the tub and then wash it like normal in the washing machine and dry in the dryer. Now you can use your snow dyed towel.
