Hi David,
What are the flying bugs in your yard? Mosquitoes, gnats, flies, wasps, hornets..to name a few? Please get back to us so you can get the help you need.
Yes, more information on the type of bug would be more helpful.
I would buy an Ortho Dispenser garden hose attachment and get on a ladder & spray the insecticide from “altitude”.
If they’re white flies on the bottom of tree & shrub leaves, they’ll need treatment as well.
Then eliminate the source of why they’re there. Moisture? Dog poop? Garbage?
You’ll probably have to spray again in one week, after the eggs have hatched. Maybe again in a third week, depending on which insecticide you use.
Remove any standing water. Build a bat house. Put up bird feeders to attract birds that eat bugs. Buy a bug zapper. Light citronella candles when you are out in the evening. Buy citronella plants.
The tips above are all a great place to start. You could also try this product which I reviewed here https://familyfocusblog.com/natural-mosquito-control-by-greenerways-organic/ . It is a hanging pouch with a ton of essential oils that repels bugs. Works great for my yard to repel all bugs.
Em has the right idea! Go natural! Bat house, birds that eat bugs, citronella candles.
A few bat houses should help you, they eat a lot of bugs every night

Depends what kind of bugs. Determine the insect and then you can figure out how to get rid of it
