How to Make a Beachy Farmhouse Sign From Repurposed Materials
I wanted to brighten up a bathroom with a little beach house flair. The perfect piece? A coastal farmhouse decor sign. Light and fun, it was as much of a joy to make as it is to see on my wall.
You get this fun pop of pale blue, a little bit of sand and some shells to bring in that beach cottage feel. The best part? It’s super fun to make, what with playing with sand and seashells–and paint that smells so unlike paint it’s crazy.
Coat your two longest pieces of wood in the Zia Teal and the next two longest in the Weathered Grey. Allow them to dry completely.
While that is drying, with the Xacto knife, cut out the lettering from the paper.
When the wood is dry, position the pieces face-down in this order: teal, grey, teal, grey. I offset them so that none of the edges actually lined up.
Glue the two shortest pieces of wood vertically across the back of the other pieces, to make them into one solid piece. Allow the glue to dry completely.
Hot glue the string in place on the two vertical wood pieces, in even locations, to form a hanger--and then enjoy!
