Has anyone contact paper for wall covering?
I have an accent wall in kitchen, wall paper too expensive, not a good stenciler. Found a decorative contact paper (washable) but just wondering about the seams.

It is the old 12" tiles that was used in homes back in the 40's or 50's. The tiles are surrounded by a brownish edge.
You can definitely use contact paper on your wall. I found a bunch of rolls at Marshalls and covered my entire bathroom in it and it looked great. Make sure your walls are nice and smooth and cut the paper to fit in the space before putting on the wall.
My mother in law did many years ago. She put it on her backsplash above the kitchen sink. It held very well but was a pain to take down when it started fading.
Thank you for the advice - I’m going to go for it!!
Yes, you can, but be sure to clean the wall well for the best adhesion.
My mother also did it many years ago. Go for it!
Sounds like a super pretty project! I say yes! If not you can also stencil an accent wall! :)

How to Stencil a Powder Room Wall With Stencil Revolution
Just make sure you pre prime the wall so contact paper will stick and can come down. Otherwise paper peels back..
Contact paper can be tricky. Some brands are better than others and most of them are thin, so if you're wall isn't perfect, it will show every bump and wrinkle. They also have a tendency to peel at the seams. It's also very difficult to remove. They do make heavier types that are sold as peel and stick wall coverings. Perhaps you should look into one of those.
It doesn’t stay on well when it gets humid it starts to peel
You sure can. Wash the wall so the contact paper adheres to it.

One option, if you have a pattern you really like, it make some art out of it. Get random sized frames and use the contact paper as the "picture" then use to decorate that plain colored wall.
Yes, you can use it!
It's a great easy fix go for it! You can always peel it off later if you want to change things up
Hi Carol,
If overtime the seams open up, you can cover them with a tape or trim or braid!
