Maybe you might consider some stick on floor tiles. I have these inside my kitchen cabinets, and in/under my kitchen sink and bathroom vanity. Very inexpensive and easy to wipe off.

Card Table Makeover
Heather: Contact paper may work well. Or, oil cloth and a staple gun --- wrapping it around the edges of the table.

Gk's idea with peel and stick vinyl floor tiles is good. Why not just paint it and three coats of a water based polyurethane. You can glue on some laminate. Cover the top with one of those plastic office chair floor protectors.
Hi! I used to take a sturdy vinyl tablecloth, cut it down just larger than their play table and staple it under the edge. Cleaned easy and was easy to replace. Stay well!
Have you tried a heat gun and scraper, I find that works with stubborn paint.
You could put a piece of a grade plywood and then put 3 coats of polyurethane on it. Scuff between coats with steel wool so it will adhere. You can also paint it, stain it, or add decals/designs.
The best thing might be to sand top until smooth and apply laminate. Easy to clean and maintain.
Has anyone suggested a good quality contact paper yet?

Hello Heather,
You could use Oilcloth tablecloth fabric or Contact or ceramic tiles, or Formica Laminate........Best wishes.
