Mary Ross... maybe Goo Gone (and a plastic net sponge) would work.
Try vinegar. I've also read that acetone will work if it's a porcelain tub.

WD40 or Goo Gone will remove adhesive residue
Another vote for GooGone! Worked for out decal removal. Hope you don’t find rust underneath like we did. :(
Try soaking with vegetable oil, vinegar, or fabric softener to dissolve the glue. Vinegar is probably the cheapest thing if you want to plug up the tub and fill an inch deep.
Yes, WD40 or Goo Gone are the 2 best sticky adhesive removers.
Hello Mary,
Try WD-40 or Goo Gone. or maybe Surgical Spirit!
You can get a solvent from the hardware store to release the adhesive.
Have you tried WD40?
Hello. I like to use GooGone or lighter fluid for adhesive removal.
I find that using a depleted credit card or gift card to be an excellent device to help scrape stickers off. It’s flexible and won’t scratch. I hope this helps
Heat it with a hairdryer, scraping the stuff off. I agree that WD40 or Goo Gone will remove the adhesive, but, they can also make it very slippery. If you use either, you will need to remove all the residue. Use Dawn dish detergent to scrub it off. Good luck and stay well!
I would not use lighter fluid it is flammable and also toxic to your lungs ~ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EtOL_ABIBN0
You could use a streight edge razor but be careful not to scratch the finish
