I would let a pro do the bathtub painting.
Here is a DIY that might help you. I always recommend talking to the pros at a paint store though. It's not an easy job and the paint you use will depend on your tub material. Is it acrylic or cast iron or porcelain, etc. This will give you an idea of the process though. If painting a tub just be sure to use the epoxy kits sold for that with detailed instructions in kit. Prep is very important. Just know it's a temp fix, last about 3 years. Once it is chipped or scratched it will peel.
If wanting to know how to paint room, wash walls down with TSP. Depending on what it was painted you may need to Prime. Use high moisture rated paint or oil base.

rustoleum sells a bath painting kit
You need paint specific for a tub otherwise a pro can do it. Just know it won’t last forever.
I've used the Rustoleum kit to paint a tub and it worked great!
