I am placing wood trim on the edge of a mirror. What adhesive or adhesive tape would be best to use
I would use some Contac paper. Lots of colors and designs and thick enough that it would make the box a little bit sturdier.
Use gift wrap, foil, newspaper, wall paper, what ever you happen to have. Wrap just like a gift without a cover.

You could mod podge decorative/craft paper on it. Or wrap it in wrapping paper.
Hello. Storage boxes can be painted or covered with a decorative paper. Many times you can combine different styles of boxes and cohesively unite them by painting them the same color.
I think if you want it in the parent's room, you should cut holes for handles, use hot glue to cover it with rope, and then put some gray, brown, or white wrapping paper glued in the inside. If it is in a kids room, you could get different colored wrapping paper, glue it on the outside, pick out two hand held rubber animals, and glue them on the sides for handles, and you could put some other kind of fun colored paper on the inside. If you want one last place like the kitchen or the living area, you could cover the outside with some fluffy or soft textured fabric, cut holes for handles, and then cover the inside with some fun colored paper! I hope this could help you!
Paint is another method. Good luck!
Keep in mind that if you are planning to use the cardboard box for storage in any area that is damp, or if you live where there is high humidity, eventually the box will begin to smell.
I used decorative duct tape. You can also use contact paper. Vinyl decals. Paint. Decoupage. Material. Wallpaper.
These are adorable!
