I don’t understand what the ceiling not bring parallel means to this question, sorry.
Decks over 24” off of the ground, must follow Building & Safety Codes and rope can’t do these requirements:
Guardrail should be able to take a 200 lb lateral load (as in if someone leans on it)
Guardrail should be 36-42” above the deck, with a balustrade (spindles) spacing that will not let a 4” sphere pass through it (baby’s head).
Hi Robie, Rope railings are very nice, they are not hard to install, but I need a bit more info, like a Pic perhaps of the deck you want to install this railing.
