How to decorate bedroom with two beds both near a wall?
So I’m trying to decorate my teens bedroom. They share The room so there are two beds, each bed is against a wall. Their beds do have white headboards, which is up against the back wall. How can I add room decor without making it look overdone and without breaking the bank.
thanks

I would make a curtain on a sliding ceiling rail (like what they have in hospitals). This would give the teens the ability to open or close the curtain when they needed less or more privacy.
A bookcase would also lend to a little more privacy. If bookcases were placed back to back they could function both both teens.
You could use paint to make a design (whatever they are into) on the wall. This is a very cheap way to add some personal interest and color at the same time.
If you want to save money you could buy a calendar (last years are dirt cheap) and frame the individual pictures.
Paint and then frame part of the wall. Paint with blackboard paint so the teens have a place to leave messages or remind themselves of appointments.
do you have a picture? Might be able to help you a little better. But one thing about kids and teens are that they have a ton of stuff & memorabilia that they like to collect. For my daughter I got her a very tall bookshelf to hold a lot of her stuff as well as books. Do you have room to put 1 or 2 tall bookshelves? You can get them from Ikea. I think we got HEMNES. For kids decorating, I like practical because if they don't have a place to put stuff, their rooms will always be messy. lol.
You can buy wall stickers that are easily removed later or stencil a pattern, use some string lights, add mirrors with lights around and if you have room a dressing/makeup table (you didn't specify boys/girls), add bulletin boards for pictures of friends, floating, shelves on the wall, bookcase cubbies with bins for storage. There are so many ideas!

I would ask the boys what they would like. What are their interests? A bookshelf between them would be a good divider and then each boy can decorate their own side of the room with posters, photos, etc.
Paint is your budget friend! But pattern is a great way to guide your choices. What about wallpapering the wall behind their headboards with a paper they love - peel and stick wallpaper is low commitment and renter friendly. Then choose colors from that to paint the other things in the the room. :)
Hello years ago in the same sort of situation I found a huge frame at the thrift store placed a piece of thin wood paneling in it - painted both up.
Then allowed the child to choose what art to put inside. It makes a nice accent piece that you can paint the color of your choice and also the child can change whatever theme poster or Decour inside the frame piece as they desire.
Go with a large piece between the beds on the wall. Perhaps their initials over the headboard, depending on the height. You could put a mirror, which would make it look larger.
Hi! maybe this will help

Frame a shower curtain on each side of the bedroom of the girls choosing from ceiling to the bed height. It looks like a giant mural for under $20. Use 1 x 2 wood from Home Depot as a frame on the side of the bed the wall touches. Paint each half of the room a different color to match the curtain with a line right down the middle to show individuality for each girl.
What about a fun paint treatment?
How about matching side tables next to their beds. Then an area rug in between the beds. For the wall, try a tapestry wall hanging - maybe something like this? https://amzn.to/2NdR88T - or whatever your teens taste is. That will make a nice focal point for the room that won't break the bank. Then put their dressers on the opposite wall to where the head of the bed.
Can you put matching low dressers at the end of each bed? And maybe table or another dresser in the center between the beds.
Is there a subtle theme or style they both enjoy to use for inspiration? An accent wall on the headboard wall and similar scheme bedding could look great on a budget.
I agree. Find a common theme or two colors they both like. Let them help with decor. Remind them that the room needs to be cleaned (can you tell I have raised a teen girl?). A great place for brightly colored bins and such is Dollar Tree. Have fun!
Hello Debby,
Paint the walls with an emulsion paint (silk) can be wiped easily). Then add wallpaper panels at end of beds and to the sides. surround the panels with wallpaper border.
You can make the panels as large or as small as you want. You can make as many as you want too! (Inline or random) Have fun.......
