Hi Renda - Those little buggers are relentless, aren't they?!? This is the most effective method and all-natural spray DIY that we use with ants. It's best indoors, but will also work outside with more frequent applications. It's even been featured on Hometalk! Hope this helps! Hugs, Holly

I use Aunt Fannies Ant Remedy. I get mine from Grove, but, I have seen it on Amazon. You have to be persistent and keep everything sealed and clean or they will keep coming back. I put diatomaceous earth around the perimeter of my kitchen, too. Good luck and stay safe!
We had just gotten rid of the sugar ants in the kitchen, what was going on was there was a tiny hole with a pathway to the outside in the Z brick backsplash, I took Elmer's glue (dries clear) and blocked it. This eliminated them coming in. It took patience to stand there and watch them, simple but effective. If you can't do that then keep your counters immaculate an uncluttered. Wipe them down with something as basic as soap and water, this will remove the pheromone trail they leave behind to help other ants follow.
Another thing we have used inside is Terro, you can get this at a diy store, orange box in the pest prevention section. It may take a few days, the ants love it and keep coming to feed off it, they carry it back to t heir colony and it wipes them out.
Here is some info to help you. https://housemethod.com/pest/sugar-ants/
We always use a product called "Terro".
Diatomaceous earth will get rid of it without harming pets or kids. Clean the area well and once it is dry, sprinkle a bit along baseboards and cabinet seams. You can put it in a "ketchup" dispenser and it's great for putting down a thin line of it. If it does get wet, it is still effective once it dries.
Here are some different ways that might work:

I use packaged cornbread mix that says it is sweetened and put it where they are. They will take it to the mound, everyone will eat it and die, they can't digest the cornmeal, but will take it because it is sweetened. Little goes a long way.
I read this from : Itsmemic
Medicated powder from the Dollar Tree. It has eucalyptus in it...menthol...I puff it around my homes foundation..and inside under my birdcages in the cracks under moldings. Work immediately and they never come back. I do this at the first sign of ants..in one day..GONE. The powder is in a very large container and lasts quite awhile too !! And smells great !
Not toxic to my birds OR dog
What if you make a barrier around the house.
I did some research, since we know what works for one person doesn't always work for another. I found this site and it's pretty informative. I know some tips you may not be able to use but there are some good ones also that will hopefully help.

Ants are so weird. One time I found them inside the freezer in the garage!! What would possess them to go inside a freezer only to die? They must have sent signals back or something ~ there were no ant trails only a freezer full of dead ants. Hasn't happened since.

I find those ant traps that you can buy at Target, etc., work very well. I put them under furniture or in a corner so they aren’t immediately visible.
I've used the cornbread idea (Jiffy Cornmeal Mix) and it worked great! You may have to do this again in a few months!
Hi Renda, sorry you are dealing with ants. I spray around our house about every 3 months with home defense. I hope this helps.

I buy ant spray and spray around our doors on the inside and outside and that usually helps prevent them from coming back in. I'd remove any food sources (like a bowl of candy left out) or anything like that near any window or doors, too.
I bought ant traps at the dollar store and they worked great
