How I've Turned an Old Steel Desk Into Nice Barbecue Grill
I've had an old steel computer desk and instead of getting rid of it, I've decided to repurpose it completely.
Entire construction was strong enough to make a barbecue out of it.
After planning and measuring future parts I've bought metal sheets and I've had them cut properly.
Lots of drilling, painting with high temperature resistant paint and cutting angle bars.
At the end I've added wooden side shelf. BBQ has wheels in order to move it easily over the porch.
Project was quite challenging for me, as I've never worked with steel.
Overall it's very useful and I'm very happy with the result :)
At first there was a desk which required getting rid of MDF's.
cutting some parts of the constuction with an was also necesarry
After drilling holes I've had to put everyting together to check if everything fits
Cooking grill is supported by steel angle bars.
Size of the grill is 58x30 cm or 22,8x11,8 inches
When everything was ready, bbq had to be disassembled for painting
Final assembly, lots of screws were used
Almost ready
First use.
I've also added fireplace grill, also made from steel angle bars
Extra shelf made from beech wood and angle steel brackets
Shelf from bottom

This is a well done job. Can you do a tutorial?
This is a well-done job. Can you do a tutorial? I also want to make a grill by myself. I love cooking BBQ, and I know that every BBQ master has to cook on a grill made by himself. Now I got a grill from bigwigjerky.com.au, and it is pretty good, but I would like to try making a grill by myself. I would make a particular space for all my BBQ accessories. The most important for me is the BBQ thermometer I got from the same website. I like that I can always check if the meat is cooking at the right temperature.
