Goo-gone also helps to soften that burnt on oil film. Wipe it on liberally, then let it sit for a while and soften up that stuff.
Works OK, but you still need elbow grease and some Bon Ami.

I make a paste of baking soda & water to the consistency of tooth past (not the gel) and put it all over the pan in the burned spots, let it set at least 8 hours or overnight. Then next take a scrubbie sponge from the dollar store and clean it off with that, using a circular motion. Repeat if needed. This works on the inside as well as the outside of pans.
Steps to Clean the Burnt Oil:
Hi! Dawn dish detergent to soak it in. Then a scrubbing pad and Bartenders Friend or Bon Ami. Good luck and stay safe!
Hi Tina. A paste of baking soda and water will clean your pan. Just put it on the burnt spots. Give it time to work. Overnight would be best. Next day clean it with soap and water. Good luck Tina. I hope you are well.
I use something called a product called Boni ami here is a link to it https://amzn.to/2Y9B6To, it works wonders

If it’s a coated aluminum pan (like Teflon) throw away the pan,
as the non-stick coating (plastic) is ruined, will be flaking off into your food (not good)
and you’ll be getting aluminum oxide in your food (Alzheimer’s dementia source).
A new coated aluminum pan is cheap, compared to the long term toxic effects.

Mix baking soda with cold water to create a paste. You'll then spread this paste over the affected area by using a scrubbing pad to make sure it gets into all the nooks and crannies. After a few hours of drying, you'll want to run the frying pan under warm water and simply scrub the now softened grease away
