Bedside Table Makeover
I decided to change up our bedroom furniture!
The bedside tables were one of the first I decided to paint after the mirror!!
theres still the bed and chest of drawers still to go!!!! But hey... one piece of furniture at a time!!
I got these from a friend who had already painted them in a chalky paint!!
I used plastic bin liners on my carpet so I didn’t get any paint on the carpet!
Remove the drawers & place on another plastic bin liner!! I decided on a two tone paint job on these tables!!
These paints are just amazing!!!! There’s no prep involved (unless you are paintings over varnish!!! Then you need to sand)
The pink is called Damask! I’ve used this to paint the drawers
Twilight geranium is the deep purple I’ve used on the surround
I haven’t sanded these as the previous paint is smooth enough for me to paint over which is amazing!!!!
im Not a big fan of prepping - unless I have to!!
I just give the paint and good shake & used straight from the tub!!!
One down
one to go!!!!!
we gave each drawer 2 coats - letting them dry in between!!!
Again, give it a shake but I decided I was going to roll the surround of the table so I just decanted the paint into a little tub (Chinese takeaway container) and rolled away!!!!
Always make time for a tea break!!!
My mam thought it looked cool with just one coat - myself and the hubby thought it looked unfinished!!!
So we opted for the second coat!!! And I think it looks much better!!!
We let it dry over night & I am delighted I chose to do the 2 tones as I think they compliment each other!!!! Next on the list is the bed!!!! Watch this space
