I have had this little table for a few months but didn't know for sure what it was used for. I finally heard back from the person I bought it from and learned that it had once been a bedside table in a hospital. What all of the burns are on the top I have no clue. The finish was not the best so I decided paint was the way to go. And I went with spray paint which was a first for me.
I did a first for me and used spray paint with primer for the whole thing and then decoupaged the sides.
After being spray painted.
The back has what I assume is a towel bar. The cut-outs are here and on the bottom shelf.
The back is all painted
The inside has cut-outs and some hardware that I don't understand. One great thing is that it can be hinged on the right or left.
I switched the door so it hinges on the right. The person who wants this cabinet wanted yellow inside.
First I painted the sides gray but changed my mind.
Changed from gray to a dark blue on the sides.
And then my favorite part. I decoupaged part of a poster on each side. The sides also got a couple of coats of polyurethane. Love the sides.

I remember these tables in hospitals. My mother is a doctor, and when I was little, I often went to work with her. But these are already old-fashioned; now that you enter a hospital, everything is performing, everything is white or gray. Now every patient is served on a hospital bed table so that it is more comfortable for him if he cannot get out of bed. I would love to be served like this every morning, at noon, and in the evening while lying in bed, but my husband rarely does it.
