Window Sills!
Builder didn’t sand window sills before painting. What are some ideas to cover them with? Window span is 30’.

Hi! I would strip, sand seal and repaint them. Good luck and stay safe!
Hi Aggie,
You must be so disappointed that happened to you, short of bringing them back to fix the problem, which should be an option. Here is what turned up. People have pets that like to look out the windows, there are window sill covers, I did not remember that until your problem came up. You can get them at Amazon and diy stores. Maybe you can convince the builder to reimburse you if he does not want to refinish them.

I would scrape all the loose paint off of them and then use an outdoor primer and then paint.
Are these interior or exterior sills? I think I would just sand them down, it shouldn't take much if there is only one coat of paint on them.
Aggie: Sand, prime, repaint. It's a short answer -- lots of work... but the correct thing, in the long run, to do.
no easy fix ~ just some labor and repainting and you will be good
Hello Aggie,
You could cover them with a veneer, or better still, Rub them down and re-paint them, or call the builder back and ask him to do a better job!
Hello Aggie, you could cover them with aluminum sills

Or with this type of material

All of my window sills have been tiled. They can be cleaned with soap and water, I do not have to worry about condensation. It is easy to do and lasts forever. I used ceramic tiles, each room has been tiled to match the room. Or you can use the same tile throughout the house, Subway Tiles look nice.
Hello. I would suggest to sand, clean, prime and repaint the service. A good prep is needed for an attractive finish.
I'd just sand and repaint
You can sand and paint but sanding usually isn’t necessary unless you have rough wood. I have some door frames that are rough cut lumber and used RustOleum enamel paint. It’s been a few years and they are still looking new.
30’ not 30”, correct?
How long ago was this done?
Fresh paint is not going to fun to sand.
Unless you’re under your warranty period,
I would buy a sander that has a point on it for the hard to get to places and start with a 150 grit and see how that works. It may clog up quickly and you’ll have to use a more coarse grit.
Tile, wood or you could just sand them then re paint them
