How to remove water stains from waxed furniture?
I used a Carnauba car wax to seal my chalk paint, painted furniture in my Airbnb. It went on very easily, looked good until my guests spilt their drinks/ placed water bottles etc. on it and now I can’t remove the water stains. Do I need to sand it all off and start over with a new layer of chalk paint and wax? Some have suggested minwax paste wax to seal chalk paint - does it stain as easily? Should I use another sealer instead of wax. Thanks for any advice. Edmonton Urban Dream Cottage.

How can you remove a water stain from a wooden night stand?
It is a light water stain.
First, try rubbing some mayonnaise into the stain. If that doesn't work, try equal parts of vinegar and olive oil. Rub in the direction of the grain.
I have always used minwax to seal both chalk and milk paint. Never had a problem with water stains. You might have to sand it and re-paint and seal.

I have painted with practically all brands of chalk paint. For pieces of furniture that are going to have a lot of use....table tops, dressers, foyer tables, etc.... I never ever
ever use wax as the sealer. Thats what no one tells you as a beginner, that the wax
finish does need continuous upkeep. Almost every brand of chalk paint that I've used, I will always put at least three coats of a acrylic sealer on the top of the piece.
I try to find a matte finish that matches the smooth finish of a chalk paint. After using the matte sealer, I have never had an issue with water spots. Water and wax
are not friends. Hope this helps.
you should not use wax for any high traffic furniture it does not hold up (mostly for looks just not practical--need to use polyurethane several coats especially in a rental
I used this mixture and it helped remove wax. https://generalfinishes.com/faq/how-do-i-remove-wax-existing-finish
