There’s many more than this. But this is an accurate photo of the type of housefly it is. They see to be getting larger every few days !!!
How to get rid of houseflies ?
Having an invasion of houseflies. These are the things I’ve tried already. Raid traps that you add water to (then they smell like garbage ..not one fly went in till I put it outside). Raid Spray. Lemons around window. Honey around rim of jar. Vinegar/soap in a dish. Pouring baking soda and vinegar down the sink. Sticky panels placed on window. These things are definitively helping. I heard flies Will go in drains if there’s organic matter in them ..thats why I put the baking soda and vinegar down the drain. I also heard something could be dead. Haven’t seen any evidence of this and if there was something in the wall how would I go about finding out about it. All pails are kept closed very well Because there is a rodent problem here so we are very careful and there is no dog/dog poop around. HELP

Wow Maria. That's a big fly. This DIY recipe might help you get rid of them. Put a half-cup Apple Cider Vinegar in a shallow dish. Add one teaspoon molasses, a quarter-cup of sugar, and one cup of water. Stir to mix this solution. Place the dish where you are seeing flies. I hope this is the recipe that will eliminate this problem once and for all. Good luck Maria.
Although they are gross, you could hang insect strips. It will definitely catch them. They are being drawn to something "stinky" for sure. If you have dog food that has gotten damp, that will attract them as well as the other issues you listed.
Maria has stated in her question that she has already tried the insect strips (sticky panels placed on windows) but is seeking a more effective solution.
Maria,
Has it been determined how most of the flies are getting inside the house? How tightly do your window and door screens fit? How tightly do the bottoms of the doors fit when the doors are closed?
Put some peppermint oil around the windows where they try to get out. Flys hate essential peppermint oil
I've heard they are partically bed this year. You are not the only one in that boat.
salt blasters are fun
There is a product called Outdoor Fly Trap, just add water, the center of the lid raises up, flies go in and don't come out. It is made by Rescue. Bottle is has a green lid, the jar has white and yellow. It is available at Home Depot and for sure Amazon...about $10.00 and flies love it.

It is reusable!
Fly strips that hang from the ceiling.
Flies detest basil and lemongrass. Try placing larger containers of these around your home's entryways, basement included. Have you moved out all kitchen appliances and cleaned those areas? They could be making nests in your windows, as well. Did you clean the underside of kitchen drain stoppers, garbage disposal gaskets, refrigerator gaskets, toe kick areas below cabinets (and the area above them you never see unless you lie on the floor)?
If you have a rodent problem, there is a better than average chance that one has died and the flies are from that carcass. Unless you can find the body in the wall, you'll keep getting flies until the body can no longer support the larvae.
Instead of poisoning the rodents, you'd do well to get snap traps and empty the bodies before flies can mature.
You could try this product for indoors that attracts and traps flies and bugs with UV light:

I have a funny but quick trick that helps me catches flies. I spray them with an aerosol air freshener, which can spray a distance and knocks them to the ground. Once they fall, I can dispose of them. Hope this helps.
Even though some various traps and sprays are used to kill flies, it is necessary to eliminate the source to remove them. Usually, flies enter the home through an opening somewhere in the house. Food, garbage, moist areas, or anything that enables them to lay eggs must be cleaned and put away.
Then, use a product to eliminate the existing flies such as this one: https://amzn.to/3iZ3QXH
I like the product above b/c it doesn't involve spraying any harsh chemicals to kill the flies.
Hope this Helps! Jeremy - https://do-daddy.com
Has anyone used the bug zapper .Katchy.?
Here's a solution that will beat all the rest to the races! Go to your agriculture supply store and purchase a powder called TEMPO. You just mix a little with water, spray it around the outside and I believe it safe to spray indoors too. If you apply it this fall, it'll still be working next spring. Gets rid of all those spider webs too. Only little red ants are not eradicated by it. I spray my soffits and around the foundation on my house so we never get invaded by ants in our house. Good luck. Enjoy being BUG FREE!
