I just take mine to my local knife shop. For a small fee they will sharpen for you.
I regular knife sharpener would work as well. I saw an article once that said cutting through fine grit sand paper will sharpen your scissors right up.

You can use a regular knife sharpener. Just be cautious because the scissors can get really sharp after doing that!!

I do the aluminum foil trick too! It really works. Sometimes the screw at the pivot point needs tightening too.
What quality were the scissors to begin with? Unfortunately, many scissors these days are not manufactured with the same materials, such as Sheffield steel, more common years ago. It is not cost effective to pay to have poor quality scissors sharpened.
If the scissors are a quality brand, (usually price paid is a reliable indicator) then it is a different story; yes, it is worth it.
You might want to enquire at some barber or hairdressing shops to see where they sharpen their scissors.
JoAnne Fabric sells a scissors sharpener made by Fiskars. You draw the blades against the sharpening stone about 20 times, each cutting side. Works very well.
