How to build a hinged wall folding table?
Small, narrow laundry room with nowhere to lay wet clothes from the washer that need hung up or to fold laundry from the dryer. Would like to have a “fold-away” waterproof shelf attached to the wall so it could be folded down when not in use and easily popped up when needed. Any ideas/directions?
Hi Diana, I think you might find the most cost effective answer for this may be to purchase it. I found a little drying rack that folds out for my laundry room for only $25 on Amazon and it really works great!
This is for a kitchen counter top but should work well in the laundry room:

You could put in a wall mounted ironing board. It would serve as the two purposes you mentioned as well as giving you an ironing surface.

We used to have an utility sink in a previous laundry room. I cut a piece of Melamine to fit and we placed it on top of the sink when needed and next to sink when not needed. A fold up shelf would also be handy. A 2x4 or 1x4 cleat can be screwed onto the wall (hit a couple of studs). A piece of Melamine can be attached to the support with a couple of hinges. Closet poles can serve as legs set at angle between floor/wall intersection and into closet rod brackets on the bottom of the table.

Hello Diana,
My father made my mother a table like that. He fitted a "T" shape of timber to the wall and then hinged a top from the shelf and hinged a swing leg from the side of the downward timber. He also put a stop under the top to keep the leg from collapsing. It all folded away when not in use. Hope that helps..

You could make one with brackets: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_PfiBEKUPn0
Home depot has pine shelving, hinges and perhaps round dowels for legs. Will be a bit of work, but not too hard
