How would you use this piece?
Found this heavy, and I do mean heavy, iron ornate base at an estate sale. As you can see, I only paid $4.00 for it. Which was a bargain in itself! I love ornamental ironwork. I think it may have been the base for a reproduction of an old bubblegum machine. Sorry it looks so grungy and grimy. I haven’t had the chance to scrub it yet. I have a couple of ideas of what I might do with it but need to find certain pieces to go with it. Ok, Hometalkers, let’s brainstorm together.🤔. UPDATE: Oops. Forgot to add the dimensions of this piece. It is 24-1/2 inches high and the legs diameter is 16 inches.

Hello,
Can you provide more pictures showing full length and close ups too?
I would add a top and make it an end table. How tall is it?
I wonder if you can pry the top part off. It could make a cool stand for an outdoor umbrella.
Hello. I think it might make a sweet small occasional table with a wood round top which can be found at the big box hardware stores. My second choice would be as a plant stand. Possibly attaching a planter to it.
What a terrific find and price congratulations.
I could see it used as a plant stand, bird bath, or a table. I also think a birdcage would look pretty on it.
I love it! My first thought was a lamp base or add a top to it for an accent table. It's a great piece for a steal. You did great.
I think you should make it into a lamp. Maybe with a cut glass shade.
Measure the hub in the middle and cut out a circle of wood from a round or square piece of wood to fit over the center piece. Add another piece the same NOT cut out if you don't want the hub to show and use as a side table for a lamp or place a planter on it.
What a great find! It's a gorgeous piece. I would try and get the top plate off and then use add a top to it. I think it would look beautiful with a vintage birdcage on top (if you love birds lol) and then fill it will flowers or evergreen clippings. To add a top you could even use an old register heating grate. I have seen round ones and they are so beautiful looking.
Maybe you can make a garden sign and use it as post to hang the sign off it.
I would put a granite top on it and use it for a table inside or out.
I would add a solid top and use it as a plant stand (inside or ouside). I can picture a beautiful fern or any other plant that will overhang the top surface as it grows. Beautiful piece you scored!
I like the ideas listed for a lamp or a table. I could see it in an entryway for an umbrella stand or hat rack or some type of valet to hold your purse, gloves, keys, etc. As a statement piece base, it could easily be topped with a dress form or bird cage.
