Seal the pot first, I use Plaid spray clay pot sealer from Michael’s, but you could probably use any spray acrylic sealer. Spray pot with 2 coats, inside & out to prevent paint from peeling, since the pots are porous. Then I like to use spray paints for a smooth finish, or craft paints & a brush if I want the brush marks. Yesterday I tried a FolkArt Rub On Transfer after I painted a pot, very easy & looks great.

You can use hot glue to make a design then paint it all with spray paint for a textured look
