Wine bottle shipping protective tray/how to reuse?
I buy wine online by the case and wonder what can made out of those molded protective trays that holds and secures the wine bottles in the container. They are so nice and sturdy and I just hate to throw them away.

These are cardboard cans - not metal.
Hi Deloris could you possibly upload a picture? Would they work as a display shelf?
Are they the foam type or the cardboard type? That might make a difference in how you finish them. Maybe they'd work for craft supply storage.
The one thing I can think of - if you're a crafter - is to use them to hold a bottle, glass, vase, etc. steady while you paint it or apply vinyl to it.
See if this will help you out

you could paint them and use as a towel rack for tolled up towels too
Since you are purchasing wine, you could decorate and use them to hold and display the wine. If you have children, they would be good for things like legos, beads, or if you are a crafter, to keep supplies in but separate.
I don't drink wine so a picture would be very helpful here. Thanks!
I know what you are talking about, because I have a wine subscription box. I usually just recycle mine, they are cardboard. Or you could keep them for if you ever plan to ship wine to someone or know of someone that may.
You can use for mulch in the garden. I just recycle mine.
So far we just recycle them, they are pretty wavy, here is a picture from Amazon with the wine in place:

I would use them to store Christmas ornaments.
Could they be recycled rather than placed in the trash? Sometimes use such moulded materials in the bottom of my annual planters to use less soil as well.
I find them sturdy for packing fragile items like Christmas ornaments. Stay safe!
I've wondered the same thing. We've just been putting them in our wood burning stove, or save to help start campfires. But ornament packing or seed starters or reusing them as shipping pack are all great ideas.
Hi Deloris,
You could fix them around a Garden Planter or make a flower border edge with them.
As they are probably not Fire retardant, I would not use them in the house .
Wouldn1t they make nice seed starters.
They would make great sections in your drawers. Perhaps to sort socks, scarfs, or ties. Or organize your junk drawer. I also like the idea of using them as seed starters for your garden.
You can make a planter
Hi Deloris, hope these help you out, I am thinking it may be to hold the bottles upright and 12 count? You could use them to transport other bottles that you don't want clinking together, or to sort out pencil crayons or felt pens, knitting needles or crochet hooks,

Hi! They are great for packing fragile Christmas decor!
I like the idea of using them in planters to take up some space and also that they will slowly disintegrate over time. You can also soak them in a sink of water and mold them into a different shape (perhaps to line a planter). You can also soak them and use to make some type of paper mache (sp?) object.
