Dollar Tree Jute Wreath 2.0-Valentines Day Theme With Pearls???🤪
I began by buying the heart shaped wreath form from Dollar Tree. Next I bought several pieces of the nautical jute rope. FYI, originally they were sold at Dollar Tree with 13.5 feet and now they are being sold for 9.5 feet. Less rope for same money. 🤯 But I digress. I began by holding a straight piece of rope about 4 inches long. Then I began weaving the rope from the outside rim over then under the next wire, then over the next, then under the next wire. On the next row back over, then under, then over, then under. With this second row I start pulling the beginning piece of rope and enclosing it underneath the wreath. This is like you cover the beginning thread with cross stitch. I kept pushing all the weaving as close as it would go. This was to cover as much of the wire as possible. You will have to let the rope unwind occasionally. It tends to get twisted too tight. You can refer to my first wreath done in this fashion at https://www.hometalk.com/diy/craft/wreaths/dollar-tree-jute-wreath-43679532.
I used Dollar Tree masking tape on the ends of the rope to keep it wound tightly. With the now different lengths of rope, I think I used 4 packs of rope but not sure. Sorry. I then flipped over the completely woven wreath and just looked at it for a while.
I wanted to do something “unexpected.” I had found two pearl garlands that I got at my parents house when cleaning out their house. I wrapped the garlands around the wreath as you can see and secured it with masking tape to hold it in place. I did this in case I wanted to do something else with the wreath next year.
I found some old red heart shaped ornaments I had made years ago for a tree. Decided to use one and stitched the pearl accent onto it. Stitched the ornament to the back side of wreath. Added simply tied bow near the base of the wreath for added color,
This is the final look for this year. Who says pearls, jute rope, and ribbon can’t be elegant? Not me.😂 Happy Valentine’s Day. ❤️❤️❤️
