Hello. I can’t tell if these are scratches in the glass or hard water stains? Some more information might be helpful.

Have you tried using your manufacturers suggested glass cleaning cooktop products? That’s what we use on ours. Hope you find a solution.

It looks scratched, here's a link with what to do, what cookware to use

    Scratches

Glass cooktops are prone to scratching. Deep scratches can't be repaired. However, if your cooktop has light scratching or streaking, this can be buffed out. You can either make a paste of baking soda and water, or use a metal polishing creme. Rub the paste using a soft cloth in a circular pattern. Wipe the paste away with a cloth afterward. If it doesn't look like this is improving the scratch, stop. Too much buffing can dull the surface, and the scratch may be too deep to repair. Don't use anything too abrasive on the cooktop, as you can add more scratches.

I do my own cooktop with Weiman's Cooktop cleaner, its a fine grit paste with a little 2-sided plastic scrub pad. First I use a hot damp cloth, bamboo, and get off what I can, then if there is a bit of burnt on food, I use a single edge razor blade to remove it, then I use the Weiman's. Best to do daily. Another recommended brand is Cerama-Bryte.

I would also recommend turning the heat down so you don't boil over liquids onto the top.

Read your booklet on the types of pans you can use on your cooktop. I did switch over to plain heavy stainless steel, but do bring out the copper bottom stuff once in awhile.

Hi! It looks like burnt on spills and other residue from cooking. I have a soft scrub made for glass stove tops for the stuff that had baked on. Bon Ami is also safe to use. I mist the cool top with water and then apply the cleaner one area at a time. A damp microfiber cloth will help you work the dried on stuff loose. A razor blade like the ones you use in a scraper can be used very carefully for any areas that won't come off. You can speed the process up by putting a wrung out towel that you soaked in hot water on the areas first. When it cools off, get started. Good luck!

It just looks stained to me. You need to use a good cleaner like this one and a lot of elbow grease: https://amzn.to/2NjB2hL

  • I did this recently and what worked for me was Weiman Glass Cook Top Cleaner. You can find it on Amazon or Walmart.

Yours looks similar to mine. Tried every single 1 of these remedies. The baking soda & over-counter will clean the superficial mess; so will a razor blade for caked on stuff. But our problem is this appears to be now INGRAINED. Look at the concentric ring damage. See how it is whitened out? And there are no scratches, just loss of color. My thoughts are it is the pots. And I have no remedy for it. Will never get a glass cooktop again. Gigantic pain in the butt, & I note no pro chef uses one--and they dont even have to clean them!😟

There is a a cleaner for stove top

The directions for my induction stovetop says to clean with Stovetop glass cleaner. Repeat if needed. It says that it leaves a protective film over the top to help protect it from this damage. It sounds like if it is used regularly it will improve the stove top. It also says to be very careful NOT to slide pans on the stove top as that can cause scratches. I just read that last night! Talk about timing!
