How to clean leather without leather cleaner?
I use the automotive leather cleaner and preservative on all my leather in the house. It is formulated for higher wear and tear so it does a great job. My sofas and recliners were purchased in 2010 and still look brand new.
I bought a two part leather cleaner and conditioner at the local auto parts store. It is two separate bottles sold as a set.
Check with the manufacturer of you couch or if you still have it, the instructions on how to clean and condition.
For ours, I first vacuum to remove anything that will scratch it, then dust with a damp microfiber cloth and then immediately dry with another microfiber cloth.
Then I use Tanners automotive leather cleaner and preservative:

Hi Deborah, hope this helps you out,
Mix a solution of warm water, a few drops of Castile or liquid dish soap and a few drops of vinegar. Dampen a cloth with the solution and wipe down surfaces. Do not saturate the leather, as too much water will damage it. Use a second cloth dampened with clean water to wipe off the soap.
