Board and Batten Wall
During the pandemic more and more people converted that extra bedroom to a home office. My friend was in the same boat where here extra bedroom was "featured" I bit more often on zoom calls and wanted to update her home office. The great thing about this transformation is that, when she stops using it as a home office It looks just as good as an extra bedroom
Here is a before shot of the room. Plain white walls and 2 book cases. And you can see the back of her desk. I was planning on adding board and batten to one of the walls and painting it a dark color. We picked a color called carbon copy. I also updated her desk. See that transformation in my other post.
For the boards we used pre primed slats purchased at home depot. With my table saw I cut them to a size that fit the height we were going with. I used liquid nail as well as my nail gun to secure the boards to the wall. If you'd like a more professional look you can also use caulk on the edges of the board for a seamless look.
Once the glue and caulk was all dry we started painting! She already had two book shelves that were a charcoal color, I wanted a monochrome look so went with a color that was closest to those shelves .
Here is the final product! The desk update is featured in a separate post. I love the contrast between the wall and the desk
