Custom Oak Base | Dresser
This dresser is by far my biggest transformation to date!
this was for a friend who gave me full creative power, I was so glad because o had such a vision for this piece the first time I saw it!
Before 😳 chunky, and bulky. We’re my first thoughts when I saw this.
Soooo many drawers haha. Thankfully I was just painting the whole dresser, so all I did was scuff sand.
Since I was making a custom base for this, I had to remove the old trim. First time doing this to a dresser so I wasn’t sure how it was going to work…
My husband used painters tape to line up where he was going to cut off.
I was so fortunate that it was a solid bas under it!
I then primed the drawers with shellac bin primer form zinsser
I did 3 coats of primer
I painted the dresser in a very off white almost cream colour… antique white by behr paint
After I top coated everything in varathanes satin poly, about 4 times!!
I added the new hardware and than my husband began to attach the custom oak base
And this is where I fell in love!
not gonna lie this dresser is a freaking beast! So heavy. But also very durable 🥰
