Hi On a covered porch, a ceiling helps and even out in the yard, a box fan keeps them off us. I also use a eucalyptus spray I buy that keeps them off of me.

We plant marigolds on our patio and it works, but you need a lot of them.

If sprays and scents do not seem to be keeping the mosquitos away, then you may want to consider putting up closed mosquito netting during the months of the year when the mosquitos are the worst, as it will be a barrier to prevent them from entering into the carport area.

Thermacell would be great. But you can also use lemongrass and Mint.
