Keep it off the ground, but not by using more wood. You need to have a sheet of metal under the playground set. After it's off the ground, cover it.

We use termite control Hi-Yield 38Plus on all our exposed wood as well as mulch and home. No issues. You can pick it up at a hardware store. It has to mixed to the termite ratio and applied with a sprayer.

Most termite sprays are pretty toxic, and since its for kids to play on, I think I would opt for a natural spray like Greenerways Bug Repellent or Wondercide. You may have to spray a bit more often but its totally safe if your not allergic to any of the oils.

Treat the wood with a preservative like Thompson’s water seal make shure you get the bottom of the legs in the ground good if some wood sticks out untreated they will start to feed on it
