DIY Copper Captain's Mirror With Cleats
by

I made this captain's mirror with a basic Ikea mirror, 3 pieces of hardware, rope, and spray paint! It's exactly what I wanted for a great price.
Spray paint an Ikea Grundtal Mirror your choice of color. I did Rustoleum Hammered Copper (for a brighter copper you can use Rustoleum Metallic Copper). Stop by Lowes' rope section and grab 3 of their cleats and about 9 feet of black nylon rope.
Turn the mirror over and, using a hot glue gun, glue the cleats to sides.
Using the mirror mounts, place the mirror on the desired spot on the wall. Then screw in the wall cleat as high as you like. Next, wrap the rope around the cleats using a cleat hitch.
That's all there is to it! Cheers!
