Decoupaged Hairpin Table

My husband and I found this table at an auction last spring. I finally got around to doing something with it last week. My original plan was to decoupage maps on top, after fiddling with it for a little while I realized, "I hate it!". I found a great replacement paper that fits the time frame really well. Loving the results.
Here's the table when I started. Its really in great shape but needs some pizzazz.
Here's the paper I picked. The dot circles remind me of the starburst countertops from the 50's. Works great with the table and has some great colors. Now it's time to recover some chairs.
I am loving decoupage but it can be a challenge. Sometimes the papers are too thin and as soon as they get wet it wrinkles up. If I touch it, it falls apart. Yeah, difficult to work with. So, I go with the wrinkles. I fix what I can and then just stand it down when its dry before I continue on with the layers of Mod-Podge. I really love the look, it gives it a distressed, aged feel.
Here it is with multiple layers of mod-podge and a few more of poly. Really love the way it turned out.
