They Say" Don't Forget to Paint the Fifth Wall". How About Stenciling
by

(IC: homeowner)
Up dating an older home can be difficult at times especially if your on a tight budget. Finding the walls are not plum and walls are not square does't make for an easy time during the process.
I live in an older home with popcorn ceilings. After removing the popcorn it left the ceiling with some imperfections that I thought were just enough to be distracting but not enough to re-texture the whole ceiling. So.... made it into an art project with stenciling and two tone paint colors.
Then came the stenciling work.
Of coarse could not leave the ceiling fan untouched so gave it a little up date too.
Now when you lie in the bed your looking at a work of art instead of a flawed ceiling! The imperfections become part of the art work.
Thinking about doing a few more of my fifth walls in the rest of the house.
Enjoyed the project?

Farmer liz on Jan 19, 2015That looks great. Our ceilings are "tongue and groove", otherwise I'd love to try something like this.
