I love Restoration Hardware, but their prices are way beyond my budget! I created a "knock off" version for free! I had all the materials on hand and was able to complete the "bundle" in about 2 hours!
First, I removed the covers and spines of three softcover books.
I used Martha Stewart's Chalk Paint in Linen and gave them a coat of paint.
Once dry, I created a "stain" by watering down Miss Mustard Seed Milk Paint in Trophy Gray. I "stained" them twice, then finished with an antiquing wax to age them a bit. The bottom book has the wax on it. I think it made all the difference.
I then cut pieces of vintage wash paper (you can print this graphic from my site) and glued on the cover and the spine. I finished them by tying up with some twine! For more details, please visit my site, I would love to have you! :)
I love how they come out!
