A $5 Vintage Metal Cabinet Redo
by
Patty G
(IC: homeowner)
This is a metal cabinet I picked up on a day of thrifting. The door, drawer front and top are wood. I just couldn't leave it at the store all dirty and old looking. I just knew I could bring her back to life!
A $5 find at a local thrift store
It had some rust and a lot of dirt.
I cleaned it up and added a little paint.
And now I just LOVE it. Will be a great place to store pots and pans in my tiny kitchen!

Mary on Oct 08, 2015Agreed with ladies above, fantastic job (= curious what paints brand/type you used, and how's it holding up? I found one on craigslist that is the old doctors office type similar to yours, but all metal and enamel top. The top is in great condition. However it had already been painted white, thick thick white paint, and has visible brushstrokes in the coats. Im thinking about painting it in a similar manner as yours now..i don't think I'll attempt removing the previous paint job, just in case it's holding it together ;) lol yep it's that kind of thick!
