A Flower That Never Fades - Old Sewing Pattern Flowers, Used 5 Ways!

Old sewing patterns are awesome. They are cheap, easy to find and provide a touch and texture you can't get anywhere else. Below are some simple steps to make a beautiful flower out of old patterns you can easily pick up at almost any thrift store, if not your own craft room. Sewing is not my gift, but I love remembering all the amazing clothes my mom used to make me growing up. She is uber talented. These flowers make me think of her. Here are FIVE ways to use these pretty little paper petals
I doubt you will think of my mom when you see these flowers in your home. A better reminder is that like these flowers that never die, neither does God's word. See the how too below.
The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of our God stands forever. Isaiah 40:8
Gather up some old patterns...the old ones have a great light texture to them. Scissors, a trimmer and pipe cleaner.
I used 6"X6" squares...square them up with the trimmer. I use about 6-7 layers for each flower.
Make a fan.
Tweak and twist together with pipe cleaner.
Curve the edges and gently unfold the layers. You have to mess with it a bit to get the flower just right.

How nice will this look in a sewing room, in a bucket, basket, etc. Cute idea. I have lots of patterns that I don't use anymore.
