Distressed Pine Flooring

Hey HomeTalkers.... Here's a project I completed a while back that I thought might interest you folks. It starts as a installation story about laying tongue-and-groove flooring and finishes as a tutorial on how to distress the pine finish. In this case, to "distress" means "to beat the heck out of" in order to give it a cool-looking worn or "aged" appearance. I beat it up with a trucker's chain and a bunch of big lug nuts. Matthew Weber on Jan 31, 2013Also, a lot of the time the old T&G boards that lay beneath carpeting are made of pine or other soft wood, and make a great candidate for this type of finish.
