DIY Tutorial: Create An Oyster Shell Centerpiece

Have you seen the adorable oyster shell centerpieces? They are all over town here on my little island with a whopping price tag of nearly $80. I decided to create my own for...nothing.
The first step was to go to the beach and gather some oyster shells. I employed my 3 year old with his dump truck and we were able to collect quite a few oyster shells in a very short period of time.
After I collected them all I sorted them in rows by size so as I was building the centerpiece I could easily find the "perfect" shell to go next. I also washed my oyster shells, just make sure you don't wash them inside where sand can get in your garbage disposal. I used a designated shell bucket and the hose outside.
You can find all the steps on my blog. I used it to set this pretty coastal table for dinner that same night. A fun and easy project.
