Our Finished OSB Flooring

A great inexpensive flooring option is to simply finish the osb sub floor with a good varathane floor finish. We did this at our cabin for a warm rustic look that is still strong and durable.

  • I'm with the others...did you stain it first? And how many coats did you use? Did you cover everything so the dust didn't fly everywhere?

Great job! I saw this over 15 years ago in a Home Hardware (Canada) diy magazine. I had planned on doing it then LOL... My question is how do you remove the stamped name? Does it come off with sanding? The last boards I saw were printed on both sides!

@Mb_smith I have some on my laundry room wall, and it is hard to cover even with high adhesion primer! It took 3 coats.
