How can I make updates (not remodeling) to this lavender bathroom?

Complete remodel is out of the question right now just looking for some suggestions on making some improvements.was thinking about replacing the old shower doors with a set framed in oil rubbed bronze replacing all fixtures to oil rubbed bronze. Also thinking to put a white frame around a large mirror and spray painting the screws holding the mirror on oil rubbed as well. Also considering keeping the lavender sinks but replacing the chrome rings with antique bronze rings. Painting the vanity which is 88 inches long white with the bronze hardware. Not sure whether or not to replace the lavender toilet to white and not sure what to do with counter. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated as I am just thinking and have no idea of what I’m thinking of doing would look OK for the time being

I worked on a very similar bath like this one a few months ago. I painted the vanity a soft grey because I found a wallpaper that had that lavender in it with grey and soft yellow and coral. We did chrome but oil rub bronze would be ok. The wallpaper really tied it all together and drew attention away from so much lavender.

I would find a good primer and paint and paint the ceramic tiles and sink. Ive seen people paint their tiles on hometalk and pintrest if you search. You honestly could probably even paint the toilet tbh. The frame around the mirror with the oil rubbed bronze hardware would look great. I saw somebody that painted their faucets with that as well and it looked awesome. And then maybe instead of painting the whole vanity you could either paint white on just the bottom/ cabinet area or leave the cabinets as is and then get the marble contact paper at walmart for the counter tops. I think that would look really nice. Since its just the bathroom it would be super cheap to get some faux wood flooring and possibly a grayish blue shade of paint on the walls.. Good luck and update with pictures with whatever you decide!!

I like Kelli’s idea of painting the vanity a soft gray. Black hardware might be pretty. I wouldn’t attempt painting the ceramic tile, etc. Your bathroom is lovely—just needs a little update.

Oh my... I LOVE that lavender bathroom. I think you can easily update it by painting the vanity. White cabinets would look great and you can spray paint the hardware. Here's a link with purple bathrooms to help inspire you:

Burgundy is a color that looks great with lavender, or black, but black will show a lot more.

Do you want to keep your glass shower doors? If you do, leave then chrome. No need to paint or replace. Update your faucet to chrome, and paint your vanity a light gray or gray/white.

If you want to change your shower door, go look for a curtain with lavender, or plumb color, then take the background color and paint your walls.

There are very easy ways to frame a mirror without mitre cuts. Home depot has squares, and with molding you just cut straight cuts. Paint the frame the same color as the vanity. Oh glue the frame with construction adhesive right on to the mirror. No need to take it down. Hope that makes sense.

Also I agree with Carol, get a fluffy rug and towels to match. You can find some really nice wall art at Kirklands inexpensively

I would paint the vanity a light gray or gray/white and make a frame for the mirror in the same color. Frames are easy with the wooden squares and straight cuts of molding. Use construction adhesive and glue directly on the mirror.

I would update the faucet to chrome, not Oil rubbed bronze, keep it light and airy. If you want to keep your shower door, all the fixtures will match. If not take the door down and get a shower curtain with lavender or plum colors. Paint your walls the background color in the shower curtain or a gray/white or a lavender/white. In other words a very soft color.

I agree with Carol. Get a fluffy purple rug and towels to match. Kirklands has great wall art inexpensively.

Have fun, your bathroom is going to look gorgeous and not cost a fortune.

Painting the vanity gray is the ticket, I love the lilac, update with new gray & white towels and rugs.

I have a small bathroom that is 28 yrs old and the tile was faded, the finish on the bathtub was shot so every time I cleaned, it still looked dirty. I wanted to rip it all out but couldn’t afford a remodel.

i found a man that resurfaced the tile, grout, and tub! He filled the cracks in the tub and worked around the quirky window on top of the tile surround that is also tiled.

After I painted the walls, the bathroom looks Brand New!! Total cost $350!

I just went with a lavendar and black bathroom. You can paint the walls and new hardware will make a huge difference.

Painting the vanity will also make a big difference.

    You can paint your countertop.
