Over the last year, I have been working my way through my house, refinishing and updating. The latest room to be tackled is the one I think I should, feel most special in. Often overlooked - I want a GLAMOROUS walk in closet/powder room. This Vanity makeover will surprise you in its simplicity!
I have this very pretty vanity that I picked up at the thrift store for a steal. As you can see it is brown and not really in the best of condition. But the bones were good and I know it would be the perfect piece for my super glam new Closet / walk in powder room.
The first step is to assess the piece. I cleaned the vanity well to ensure there was no oil or grease present. I should have lightly sanded, and I would always recommend you do, but in this case, I was a bad girl and didn't!
I did, however, do a 'test' area. Imagine being too lazy to lightly sand, and then realising I should have! I left my test patch for several days t be sure that the paint would adhere and to be sure of no bleed through from the original finish.
Once I was certain that my Fusion Mineral Paint was going to stick like a dream with no further prep, I got to work.
Seriously - it is this easy.
I used Little Stork, a wonderful pale lavender, from the Tones for Tots line of Fusion Mineral Paint. The coverage is superb so one coat with a little touching up was all I needed.
Do you see the beautiful brushes? These are Staalmeesters - quite honestly the best brushes I have ever used.
You can get them from Fusion Mineral Paint Merchants soon.
I finished up only painting half...the finished article can be seen on the Hometalk Facebook Videos Page - but I do promise to have a fully finished image just as soon as possible!
